Anti - nature, Non - human
57 seconds 2016 Special thanks to Georgie Ryan for working on sound. This film documents various non human perspectives and anti nature entities, documenting entangled wires and binary codes that translate to anti nature. Mechanical, non sophisticated objects seen in alien perspectives. In Premiere Pro I sped up time and created close ups that are not accessible to the human eye. We as humans have transformed the idea of ‘nature’ into a set of meanings. A lot of things we see as ‘nature’ are artificially constructed by humans. The extent of this artifice is present in the geological strata. We are communicating that machines are more present in our lives than nature is. We took a birds eye view perspective and the view from which an ant would see to show different extremities of viewing. As ants are always jittery and in an almost constant state of activity we used strobe light effects on Premiere Pro to communicate this form of movement, as well as filming from the ground. |

Obstruction series - #2
2:09 minutes 2016 I used the soundtrack ‘The sound of silence’ by Simon and Garfunkel because of the lyrics “In the naked light I saw 10,000 people maybe more, people talking without listening. People hearing without listening” this shows an inability to communicate and I feel that this happens all too much in a big city such as London where everybody is rushing around past people. The song depicts the mental state of the subject and as the song progresses the noises get louder and start to drown out the words. I like the juxtaposition of the lyrics talking about silence but in fact the video is not very silent apart the beginning when it starts off calm. |

Obstruction series - #1
1:03 minutes 2016 This was inspired by The Five Obstructions, a 2003 Danish documentary film directed by Lars von Trier and Jorgen Leth. It incorporates lengthy sections of experimental films produced by the filmmakers. I was given the task of remaking 'Closed Spaces' five times, each time with a different "obstruction" (or obstacle) imposed by my friend. |

Animating the still
28 seconds 2016 'Animating the still' is in response to my previous short film 'In the face of a mirror'. I wanted to try and bring my photos to life so I decided to incorporate a series of stills from 'In the face of a mirror' and overlay the same video on top, imagery becoming eerie and mysterious. |

Attractions
21 seconds 2016 Inspired by the cinema of attractions, this film is created with the intention of encapsulating the spectator, imagery as something beautiful, escaping the narrative. The imagery is generated and reacts to the beats of a sound I produced. |

In the face of a mirror
2:07 minutes 2016 I worked in collaboration with actress Emilie Jane Osborne. The aim of this is to make the viewer feel uncomfortable, that the viewer is entering a personal and intimate space not intended for them. |

Closed Spaces
2:11 minutes 2016 This film was created for the 'Visual Eight' exhibition at Arts University Bournemouth that I curated. The film depicts the claustrophobia that someone might feel in a busy street, surrounded by many people you can see how the protagonist's anxiety increases, feeling as if everyone is looking at her. |

The chaos of London
1:42 minutes 2016 Collaboration with Charlie Pritchard (sound). I used found imagery and footage of a Plasma ball to show the energy and chaos that London holds for me. The sound enhances the idea of an unpredictable, busy city. |

Utter confusion

Squashing space/condensing experience
1:35 minutes 2015 In this short film I am trying to show the chaotic energy of our everyday lives. Using a dramatic, emotional soundtrack to enhance the viewers experience and encapsulate them in a distorted view of the world through the flame. |

Savaş
3:37 minutes 2015 My film 'Savaş' is about the loss of identity and the tearing apart of families through war. The project was inspired by the 1974 invasion of Cyprus and the conflict between the Greek and Turkish Cypriots. My father, being only 14 when this happened, was forced to hold a gun to help protect his small village. |
